I've never been one of those people that just runs out and buys everything I could possibly need for a new hobby. I'm not much of a shopper and I definitely don't have that impulse to get whatever is new on the market just to try it out...you know... in the name of science, and then give one away every -- Oh. Wait. Yeah. Ummm... that pretty much describes me exactly. (Shoot. Don't tell my husband!)

And I kind of love new places to shop as much as I love new products. So when my friend Anne of Flour Box Bakery opened her online shop... I could NOT have been happier!! It's everything I love all in one place! Friends, cookies and shopping!!! She's got a great selection of supplies...including an FDA APPROVED GOLD DUST!! It's called Crystal Dust and I just ordered some and I can't wait to try it out!! I was in a little bit of an Easter rut this year until I saw all of her Easter Cutters and then my mind basically exploded and I had no idea what my hands were doing and somehow I ended up with a plate of cookies that I'm absolutely in love with! I mean... royal icing burlap??!! YES PLEASE!!! (Are you with me?!)

1. Outline and flood your cookie. I did pink...but you can go with any color you like. It's your cookie. I won't judge.  Let it dry completely... like overnight solid icing.
2. This is the cool part. Spread thick icing over the top of the background icing. Then grab a fork and drag it through the icing both vertically and horizontally... and BURLAP!!
3. Use medium consistency white icing to pipe two circles on top of each other and then ears to make a bunny. Let it dry for an hour.
4. Add a tail. I used blue fondant in a silicone mold to make a rose tail. But you can also just pipe some icing and add sanding sugar or non-pareils.

Confused? See it in action.
