I hope all of you are happy. Because I am fully prepared to blame everyone except me on this one.
In case you are wondering, this is his very favorite cookie of all. He laughed and laughed when he saw it. He said it was the funniest cookie he'd ever seen. He said it was funny because the pumpkin was eating another pumpkin. He thought THAT was funny. Next thing you know, he's going to start saying "insects" instead of "buggies" and riding motorcycles and growing a mustache and telling me that my jokes aren't funny and eating frozen meals instead of peanut butter and jam sandwiches and it's all because I made jack-o-lantern cookies for Halloween.
Clearly, I am going to need more ice cream for this.

Cute...and scary! Oh my- I can relate. My guy is 4 and asking to go into the Halloween store. Sorry sweetie that store is too scary for Mommy.
I gotta say I love these ones too! Apparently I have the mentality of a little boy :)
Great job!
Love em!
Easy to see why your little fellow got such a kick out of these cookies. They are tons of fun!
Brilliant design!!
Love them! And my sweet, respectful, affectionate, little lover of all that is evil would go crazy for them too.

Oh yeay! I'm so glad that such sweet people like scary Halloween things too. At least my little boy is in good company!
I definitely love these, too, and like everyone else (and your son!) my fav is the pumpkin eating the other pumpkin. :)
I have a question, and I've tried searching, but didn't come up w/ anything. How do you get the indention detail on the pumpkins if you don't outline? I did the pumpkins last night, but I outlined, and my outlines always look like crap. I'd love to skip it, but I don't know any other way? HELP!!! Please!
I am such a sucker for all things Halloween that I am so in love with these cookies, have to say my favorite is the one eating the little one. My kids are not fully prepared to come to the dark side in which I live just yet, but through proper training they will one day :) that being said I am going to have to show them these cookies cause they're going to LOVE them!!!
Take the credit not the blame ;)
Amber -- I pipe every other section and let them dry for 15 minutes before filling in the middle sections. (Kind of like here -- http://lilaloa.blogspot.com/2011/08/candy-corn-pumpkins-and-vampire-cookies.html) On these cookies, I actually went back and brushed cocoa powder into the lines as well to make them look darker.
Kimberly -- I hope that means you are going to try making cookies soon!
Wonderful! I love all the details!
