How To Make Scribble Candle Cookies

How To Make Decorated Scribble Candle Cookies for Birthdays ~ Tutorial

I don't really remember kindergarten. I mean, I know there was a yellow table that involved scissors and for a brief time - glue. And then someone (not me) showed everyone in the class how to put glue on their hands to make snake skin...and that was officially the end of the glue at the yellow table. And really, that's all I've got for kindergarten.

So really...I'm the furthest thing from a Kindergarten Expert that you could imagine. My first child was a boy-child. He went to an all day kindergarten in another country where they got snacks, 3 recesses, and watched  "Magic School Bus" and took naps after lunch. Kindergarten was basically a dream come true for that kid. Which did NOT prepare me for kindergarten in the real world. And by "real world" I mean "with girls".

Seriously, when did kindergarten get to be such a high-pressure environment? The girl has 11 pairs of shoes, and STILL doesn't  have the right shoes for Tuesdays. Because Tuesdays are apparently SO MUCH DIFFERENT from Mondays. And don't even get me started on Wednesdays. It takes her 20 minutes every morning just to narrow down the exact pair of brightly colored velcro footwear for her day. We have to check the weather, and the lunch menu (It's HALF DAY kindergarten. She doesn't even eat lunch at school!) and the activity schedule. She has to go through her extensive friend list to determine who is sick and who is on vacation and which games they will play at recess as a result of this attendance census. And when she's narrowed it down to her final 3 pairs she determines the ultimate winner through a combination of tests that include the thickness of the socks that match her outfit and something called "Eenie-Meenie-Minie-Moe."

And then we have to pick a cereal.

Needless to say, by the time we've picked a cereal, found yesterday's homework and her backpack (which is just as likely to be on the roof of my house as it is to be on it's very own LABELED hook...) and walked the 2 blocks to school... I'm pretty much spent for the day. I just want to go home and stare at the wall and really, truly, discover an answer to the question, "WHAT JUST HAPPENED??!" Except I have 2 more adorable little girls that need actual clothes and food and cuddling all day.

Thanks goodness for quick and easy cookies!! Like these scribble birthday cookies! I'm pretty much in love with these candles. I'm trying to figure out if I can force them into some other occasion. Like I could make them with flowers and give them away for Mother's Day. Maybe? Meh. I'll leave that kind of thinking for a day that doesn't involve shoes.

And since it's all wet-on-wet, I didn't even try to take pictures of the steps. I just made you a video instead. I hope that's okay.
