Painting Challenge Round-Up and a WINNER!!

You guys -- Painting on cookies is your THING!!! You all completely rocked that challenge last month! It was nearly impossible to narrow down my favorites!

I actually looked at these beach cookies from MissCuit THREE times before I really understood that these were the cookies and not the inspiration. I absolutely LOVE how she combines wet-on-wet with painting! And... she even has a tutorial. Click on the picture above to go to her site.

And these stunning New Orleans cookies from Elizabeth at Sweet Art Sweets are absolutely stunning in their stunning stunningness. Seriously, the combination of piped lines and painted art... ahhh..... AMAZING.

And another set of destination themed cookies with incredible texture and shading from Rebecca at The Cookie Architect. And of course... the most gorgeous, calming colors that ever existed.

I love how Sugared Hearts Bakery used the painting technique to create cracker jacks on the boxes. I have stared at them for hours and can't figure out if she mixed icing with the paint to create ACTUAL texture... or if she's just that amazing at painting texture on. SUCH a great job!

You know what is crazy unbelievable? THIS COOKIE from Whitney at CopCakes. It looks like an oil painting! They way it looks like actual water coming off the fountain and how you can see the steps behind it? UNBELIEVABLE!!! (Did I already say that? I meant it.)

I am loving the colors on these adorable little hedgehogs from Sue at Munchkin Munchies. And I really, really love how she took an inspiration design and completely recreated it with her own vision and gave it a new life of its own. I want her to illustrate children's books now.

Can you believe these cookies almost didn't happen because Melissa at Sweet Melissa's Cookies didn't think she could paint on a cookie??!! THESE are her first try you guys. SO gorgeous and pretty and I absolutely cannot stop staring at the texture created by those bright colored brushstrokes!!! LOVE!

Not that a cookie has to have bright colors to get my attention. I love the perfect aged shading on this cookie from The Cookie Lab. And the attention to detail is brilliant. The perfect cracks in the background, the shadowing on the leaves, the aging....seriously so well done.

I just want to keep showing you cookie after cookie from last month's challenge. You really should go check out the rest of them yourself. I'm so completely in awe of the amount of real talent in the cookie decorating world. You are all fantastic. Take the rest of the day off.

Except don't go yet! I still have to announce the winner!!

And the winner is....

These bow tie cookies from Sweet Creations By Stephanie! Congratulations! Look for my email!
